Updated on May 28, 15:39 - On and off light to moderate rains are expected to continue over Bengaluru. However, heavy rains are ruled for next few days.

Two significant weather systems have developed on either side of South Peninsula. A well-marked low-pressure area has developed over Southeast Arabian Sea off Kerala and Karnataka Coast and a low-pressure area has also developed over Southcentral Bay of Bengal.

As a result, the all the moisture content is now concentrating around these weather systems. Thus, leading to slight drop in weather activities over Bengaluru. But a trough that is running from Uttar Pradesh to Coastal Karnataka.

Now the rain intensity will be heavy to very heavy over Coastal Karnataka. Meanwhile, South Interior Karnataka including Bengaluru may receive scattered rains for next 2-3 days. We expect rains to increase over Bengaluru by June 1.

Updated on May 27, 18:52 - As predicted by Skymet Weather, Bengaluru  continues to record pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers of varying intensity. All thanks to the weather systems prevailing over and around the region.

These weather systems have been responsible for the onset of Monsoon over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. A low pressure area is seen over Southeast Arabian Sea, while a cyclonic circulation is over Bay of Bengal. Besides this, a north-south trough is also running across South Interior Karnataka.

Both the systems have been getting more marked and thus, resulting in rains and thundershowers over Bengaluru and nearby areas. Today also, with the increase in maximum temperature, convective clouds developed over the city.

By late afternoon, thick clouding had engulfed Bengaluru, leading to rain and thundershowers in the evening over the state capital.

In fact, both the systems are likely to get more marked in next 24-48 hours. The low pressure area is likely to induce a depression in next 2-3 days, while circulation in Bay of Bengal would become low pressure area.

With this, conditions would remain favourable for more rains in Bengaluru in the next 2-3 days. Not only this, these systems would also be instrumental in bringing the Monsoon surge over Kerala initially and soon over Bengaluru.

These showers have made the weather pleasant, particularly evenings and mornings.
