First Pre-Monsoon activity to begin over Pune

As anticipated by Skymet Weather, rain and thundershowers lashed Pune on Saturday evening. Rain bearing clouds had started hovering over the city since late afternoon hours, with rains following soon.

According to Skymet Weather, very warm and humid weather will prevail over Pune. Cloud formation is likely and conditions of light rains and thunderstorm are developing over the region. These weather activities are likely during late afternoon and evening hours over some parts of the country.

These fresh pre-Monsoon rains can be attributed to the advancement of South West Monsoon. The current day temperature of Pune is 37°C, which is likely to witness a significant drop during the late evening hours. Hence evening and night will remain cool

Several other areas of Maharashtra are also expected to witness thunderstorm and light rain along with squally winds. These weather activities will result in temperatures taking a dip.

Since these activities will mostly occur during the evening hours, maximum day temperatures over Pune and adjoining areas will settle around 36°C or 37°C. Though the intensity of rains will vary in the coming days, isolated pre-Monsoon activities will continue till the arrival of Monsoon over the region. Progressing at its normal pace, Monsoon 2017 is likely to reach Pune between June 7-12.
