MAHAi

The entire state, Maharashtra has been observing good Monsoon rainfall activities since last few days. In fact, last 24 hours were also not different and several cities of Maharashtra such as Mumbai, Aurangabad, Mahabaleshwar, Wardha, Kolhapur, Nagpur, and Pune continued to settle with light to moderate Monsoon rains. Additionally, cool and comfortable weather conditions also prevailed over the entire state.

Since the span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Aurangabad recorded 88 mm of rainfall, Buldhana 53 mm, Parbhani 28 mm, Osmanabad 25 mm, Ahmednagar 18.2 mm, Harnai 18 mm, Pune 16.1 mm, Amaravati 14 mm, Mahabaleshwar 10 mm, Wardha 6 mm and Nagpur and Mumbai 4 mm.

The reason for these good Monsoon rain and thundershower over the entire state can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which was seen persisting over Southwest Madhya Pradesh. Now, a fresh cyclonic circulation can be marked over East Arabian Sea off Konkan Coast.

Hence, due to these weather systems, the intensity of these rainfall activities over North Konkan region including Mumbai is expected to increase further and may settle with light to moderate Monsoon rains during the next 24 hours as well. Whereas, scattered moderate showers are likely over the northern parts of Madhya Maharashtra.
