Punjab and Haryana gear up for a week of thundershowers and dust storm

May 12, 2019 10:36 AM |

Punjab and Haryana are seeing dust storm and dust raising winds at many places since the last two days. These dusty winds were often accompanied by thundershowers at isolated places.

These reason for these weather conditions is the prevailing Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir and its associated Western Disturbance over Northwest Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan.

During the coming days, the frequency of Western Disturbances and its associated induced Cyclonic Circulations will is set to increase. These will be affecting the duo states of Punjab and Haryana one after the other in quick succession during the next 4 to 5 days.

Hence, the frequency of the ongoing weather activities is set to increase over the states. More and more dust storm and thundershower with strong winds will be affecting Punjab and Haryana during the next 4 to 5 days.

A silver lining to the cloud lies in the fact that the day temperatures are set to decrease slightly due to these weather conditions.

However, due to suspension of dust in the air, the air quality is likely to deteriorate. Thus, heading out in the open will be harmful to the health. These weather conditions are likely to continue for the next 4 to 5 days.
