A Western Disturbance is currently over the Western Himalayan region which is expected to give rain and snowfall over parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. This Western Disturbance is being trailed by another Western Disturbance and the gap between the two weather systems is very less so rainfall in the hilly states is expected to continue till March 16. Due to these activities, the maximum temperature is expected to fall in the next few days.

The current Western Disturbance is not active enough, however, many parts of Jammu and Kashmir and one or two places of Himachal Pradesh may witness moderate rainfall. Uttarakhand may also see some weather activity by evening. Moreover, the higher reaches of the three hilly states may see some snowfall as well.

Thus, on March 15 and 16, there is a possibility of light to moderate rains and snowfall in many places of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh with one or two places recording heavy rain and snow as well. The higher reaches of Uttarakhand may also witness some snow activity.

Thus, tourists who are planning to pay the hills a visit must ensure their safety as there are chances of avalanches in the higher reaches of the hills around March 15 and 16.

Hilly resorts of Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Rohtang Pass, Kufri, Auli, Manali, Dalhousie may see some snow as well.
