Rain and thundershowers to visit Delhi on Wednesday

March 6, 2017 12:57 PM |

Delhi rains

Delhi and NCR region have been witnessing dry but quite pleasant weather since last few days. In fact, both maximum and minimum temperatures have been observed near normal levels.

Currently, cool and comfortable nights with slightly warm days are hovering over the region. These weather conditions can be attributed to dry and cold winds from the northerly direction.

Now, according to meteorologists at Skymet Weather, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to approach the Western Himalayas. This system will start affecting the northern plains including Delhi and NCR by March 7.

Initially, the effect of this system will be more on Punjab, parts of Haryana and North Rajasthan. However, isolated light rain and thundershowers are expected to commence over Delhi on March 8. The intensity of these rains is likely to increase by the evening of March 9. Hence, we can expect some good rain and thundershowers activity over the region on March 10 and 11.

These rainy spells are expected to reduce both day and night temperatures. Thereafter, the rain belt will shift towards eastern parts of the country. Due to this, the weather over Delhi will once again go dry and clear.

Weathermen say Delhiites will witness clear and comfortable weather on the festive occasion of colors, Holi.
