Rains have picked up good pace over the state of Telangana during the last 24 hours, wherein heavy rains were recorded over Ramagundam, while Hyderabad reported light rainfall activities.
According to Skymet Weather, a Low Pressure Area has formed in the west central Bay of Bengal. This system has already initiated rains over the state of Telangana. Now, we expect, rainfall activities to continuously increase for the next three days over the entire state including its capital city- Hyderabad. The increased rainfall activities would also mark the arrival of Southwest Monsoon here.
For the next three days, the chances of heavy to very heavy in isolated pockets of Telangana cannot be ruled out. A major portion of the state will observe light to moderate rainfall activities.
In Hyderabad, sky will remain cloudy with one or two spells of rain and thundershower activities. Maximum temperatures will settle around 34 degrees Celsius and minimums will remain around 25 degrees Celsius.
The good news is, these rains would help the state in improving its rain deficiency figures. The state has remained largely rain deficient by 63 percent so far (data available with Skymet from June 1 to June 19).
In the wake of these activities, the weather will become pleasant and the state would get rid of the soaring temperatures. The day temperatures would significantly drop down and settle below 40 degree mark.
Further, June 24 onwards, as the system will move south-westwards towards North Interior Karnataka, the weather would start clearing up from the state. However, on and off rains will continue for some more time.
The increased rainfall activities would mark the onset of Southwest Monsoon over the state of Telangana.
