Hills North India Article

The northern hills of the country are experiencing varied weather conditions for the past many days. Talking particularly about the state of Jammu and Kashmir, back to back Western Disturbances are causing on and off rainfall activities over this state.

The higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir are also witnessing scattered snowfall.

At present, a Western Disturbance is seen over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this system, scattered rains have commenced over the northern districts of Jammu and Kashmir. In fact, sky conditions over most places of Jammu and Kashmir some parts of Himachal Pradesh are cloudy.

Further also, we expect rains to gradually increase in spread and intensity. We expect more snowfall over the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Himachal Pradesh during next 24 hours.

The present weather system will move away eastwards by the night of October 17 and weather will once again become dry on October 18.

Another feeble Western Disturbance which is at present over western parts of Afghanistan will affect the hills of Western Himalayas and will once again give light scattered rains over Jammu and Kashmir along with one or two places over Himachal Pradesh on October 19.
