Rain in West Bengal

The state of West Bengal has been observing dry weather conditions for a long time. if we talk about the city of Kolkata, rainfall has been nearly absent throughout the month of February. Moreover, the city of joy has not even received rainfall in single digit throughout February making it highly deficient.

Such has been the case with almost all the areas in the state which have been witnessing no rains at all.

However, things are all set to change as rainy days are likely to make an appearance over the city of Kolkata along with other parts of West Bengal starting tomorrow.

A shift in the confluence zone from the central parts to the northern areas of West Bengal will be the reason for the upcoming rains.

Rain intensity will not be as high today and tomorrow. However, rains will be most intense on the days of February 25 and 27. Along with chances of moderate to heavy rainfall activities, the possibility of strong gusty winds as well as lightning strikes cannot be ruled out.

Moreover, hailstorm activity is also possible in a few cities of West Bengal during that time. Maximums, in view of the ongoing rains, will see a significant drop on February 25 and 27. Thereafter, on February 28, weather will start clearing up from the state.

Parts of Bankura, Burdwan, Birbhum, Dakshin Dinajpur, Darjeeling, Haora, Hugli, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Kooch Behar, Kolkata, Malda, Murshidabad, Nadia, North Twenty Four Parganas, Paschim Medinipur, Purba Medinipur, Purulia, South Twenty Four Parganas and Uttar Dinajpur will be the ones seeing rains during that time.
