Rain intensity to reduce over Andhra Pradesh

rain in andhra postSouth coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh have been witnessing moderate to heavy rains from the past few days. In the past day, also few coastal stations of the state recorded rains.

In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Sunday, Nellore witnessed heavy rain to the tune of 52.4 mm, Tirupathi 52.1 mm, Kavali 17 mm and Cuddappah 16 mm of rain. At present a trough of low is persisting over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and South Tamil Nadu Coast and a cyclonic circulation is also prevailing near Sri Lanka.

The weather system is likely to weaken gradually as another system is developing over the Andaman Sea which will carry away the energy towards itself. As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, rain and thundershower activity is likely to decrease significantly.

However, light rain-thundershower with isolated moderate showers may occur in parts of south Andhra Pradesh coast and Rayalaseema. The northern parts of the state will remain mainly dry. After 24 hours, the weather is likely to become dry across the state.

Hence the morning temperatures may rise but moderate breeze will accompany leading to pleasant mornings. During afternoon hours the weather will become warm. The sky conditions will remain patchy cloudy.
