Rain in Siliguri

The political scenario across the country seems to be heating up ahead of the general elections. And in a bid to woo the voters, political parties are addressing massive rallies. National parties like the BJP and the Congress have already held several such rallies in the last few days.

And continuing with the trend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold another public rally in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. A huge gathering is expected at the venue, but the weather gods may play spoil sport.

According to meteorologists at Skymet, cloudy weather conditions with possibility of intermittent rain are expected during the rally. The weather system that has given some decent amount of rain in the northern plains during the last couple of days has moved eastward. A trough is also running across the foothills of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal extending up to the Northeastern states.

It will be interesting to see how people brave the weather conditions to join the rally of the prime minister who is a huge crowd puller.

The rally by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be his third in the state in a week. During his day long visit, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the four laning of the Falakata-Salsalabari section of the National Highway-31 D. He will also inaugurate New High Court Circuit Bench at Jalpaiguri.
