Rain likely to continue in Bihar, WB & Sikkim

October 15, 2013 1:35 PM |

The low pressure area over east Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas of Bihar is expected to move in a northeast direction during the next 24 to 48 hours. Due to this Shift, rain will continue over Bihar, West Bengal and Sikkim in this period. There would be showers at many places in these states. Foothills in these areas could also receive moderate to heavy rain at one or two places.

Rainfall here will continue after this period as well, as the low pressure area that will move to north Bihar and adjoining areas of West Bengal will become a north-south trough extending from north Bihar to the Bay. The weather system will also give rain in northeast India. West Assam and Meghalaya will receive rain at a few places during the next two days.

A wind discontinuity/trough (region of intensified moist winds) is prevailing over Kerala to Rayalaseema in Andhra Pradesh. Under the aegis of this weather system, rain could occur at a few places in Kerala, Karnataka and south Andhra Pradesh during the next two days.

Weather in north India will become clear with rise in maximum temperatures but night or evening temperatures will drop now onwards.
