Chhattisgarh, east MP and south UP to receive heavy rain

October 1, 2013 3:30 PM |

The weather system stationed in western parts of the country over south Rajasthan and adjoining areas of east Gujarat and west Madhya Pradesh is expected to move away northwestwards to west Rajasthan and nearby Pakistan during the next 48 hours. This will be end of a long session of rain in these parts since a fortnight. The absence of a weather system thereafter could resume the withdrawal of monsoon from northwest India.

Moderate rain is expected to continue at many places in east Gujarat, south Rajasthan and adjoining areas of west Madhya Pradesh during the next two days.

As the low pressure area will stay for another two days, clouds and chances of thunder development in Delhi will remain intact. Temperatures in northwest India will again start rising to make days warm after this period. Southeasterly winds will be observed in Delhi and adjoining areas. Morning and evening hours will be pleasant in the plains.

Rain is expected to continue in central and east India for next 72 hours. The low pressure area has entered the land from the Bay of Bengal and currently positioned over Chhattisgarh that will experience heavy rain at a few places during the next 24 to 48 hours. The weather system has now took a northwest path and expected to be near south Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Madhya Pradesh in a day or two. This can give heavy rain in these areas along with western parts of Bihar and Jharkhand. Temperatures in these areas will remain below the average.

The low pressure will continue to give rain in east coast over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, east and west Godavari districts. Heavy rain may occur at one or two places in these areas.

Northeast will remain dry as winds will come from northeast direction. Light and isolated rain is expected in Tripura. Temperatures in the region could go above average.
