Rains ahead for Madhya Pradesh during the next 24 hours

During the last 24 hours, rain and thundershower activities continued over East and Central Madhya Pradesh. Isolated hailstorm activities also occurred over East and Southeast Madhya Pradesh adjacent to Vidarbha.

Major amount of rainfall was received by Malanjkhand which received 24 mm rains, while Tikamgarh received 19 mm rains, Satna 16 mm, Rewa 10 mm, Pachmarhi 8 mm and Narsinghpur recorded 8 mm rains. Many other parts received light rains and thundershowers.

These rains occurred in the presence of dry northwesterly winds are merging with humid southeasterly winds over Bay of Bengal over East Madhya Pradesh. Moreover, a Trough was also extending from South Gujarat to Jharkhand across North Madhya Pradesh. In the wake of these weather systems, these unseasonal rains were witnessed by Madhya Pradesh.

Now, a Confluence Zone will gradually shift to East and rains will subside. However, scattered light rain with one or two moderate spells may continue over eastern parts of the state today as well. By tomorrow, the weather will clear up.

Day temperatures may increase by 2 to 3 degrees over eastern parts of the state and there may be a marginal drop of one to three degrees in minimums during the next 24 to 48 hours.
