During the last 24 hours, dry weather conditions prevailed in both the states of Kerala and Karnataka. Also, day temperatures showed a marginal rise on stations situated along the coasts. A mainly warm and humid weather prevailed in most parts of the coastal regions.
A Trough of Low which is extending from Northwest Bay of Bengal to Sri Lanka coast, may allow some rain and thundershower activities over Kerala, mainly over the Southern parts tomorrow onward.
The Eastern component is expected to strengthen now. Places like Trivandrum, Kochi and Kollam may receive scattered thundershower and light rainfall activities. At the same time, northern parts of Kerala and adjoining coastal parts of Karnataka may receive isolated rains and thundershower activities.
Although, these weather conditions are expected to persist for a short duration only.
The rest parts of the state of Karnataka will remain mainly dry. Due to, the dry winds of North-easterlies, over extreme North of Karnataka, night temperatures have dropped over the region for now. Temperatures are likely to increase yet again, due to Easterlies after 24 hours.
Next 24 hours, will bring along haziness and mist which will prevail during morning hours at many places over Kerala and Karnataka. Isolated shallow fog is possible during early morning hours.
