Rains and thundershowers forecast for Delhi today

August 25, 2019 8:59 AM |

Delhi rains forecast

Delhi’s weather is running almost dry since the past few days. However, localized weather activities in the form of patchy rains have been going on over Delhi and NCR since the last two days. These rains are not fairly widespread in coverage. Therefore, some areas have received good rains whereas others remained dry.

Now, the axis of Monsoon Trough which was running along the foothills of Himalayas will start moving Southwards towards Delhi. Moreover, a Low-Pressure Area which is over Northwest Odisha will also start moving towards Central India. With the combined effect of these weather systems, we expect a few good spells of rain and thundershowers today over Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad.

Thereafter, patchy rains and localized weather activities will continue. However, no heavy rains are forecast for now at least until August 29.

August 30 onwards rain activities will increase over Delhi and NCR for the next three to four days. During that time, we expect Monsoon to revive once again over Delhi and NCR leading to fairly widespread rain and thundershower activities. However, any continuous rains are not expected during that time as well.

The weather will become pleasant with a drop in temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees.
