The Low-Pressure Area, which is over Odisha, has begun to affect Vidarbha along with other parts of Maharashtra. Since morning, Nagpur has been observing good rains. According to meteorologists at Skymet some other cities like Chandrapur, Bhandara, Wardha and Akola in Vidarbha will also witness moderate to heavy rain in the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Brahmapuri in the Vidarbha region recorded heavy rain of 222 mm in a span of 24 hours from 8.30 am on Thursday. Amravati too received 26 mm of rains.
Almost similar conditions have been prevailing in Pune. The city since early morning today has recorded light to moderate rain. This activity in Pune is likely to continue for another day or two.
On the other hand, moderate rains with one or two heavy spells are likely to continue in Konkan and Goa. In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Thursday, Alibag and Hardai in the region received a whopping 118 mm and 77 mm of rain, respectively. While Colaba recorded 72 mm, Santa Cruz 45 mm, Ratnagiri 46 mm, Kolhapur 28 mm and Dahanu 16 mm.
Light to moderate rains are possible over Marathwada as well. In fact, Marathwada was observing dry weather conditions for the last few days. But forecast of rain in the region is likely to bring some relief from the ongoing dry weather conditions in Marathwada.
