Since last two days, scattered light to moderate rains are drenching parts of Vidarbha and adjoining areas. Maharashtra has been waiting since a very long time to witness rains in order to enjoy cool and pleasant weather.

At present, a trough is extending from North interior Karnataka till Vidarbha region across Marathwada. This system would result in more scattered rains over Vidarbha for the next 24 hours and over isolated pockets of Marathwada. Moreover, hailstorm is also possible over one or two places of Vidarbha.

Places such as Nagpur, Wardha, Akola, Chandrapur, Yeotmal, Latur, Beed, Parbhani, Osmanabad and Aurangabad may see the weather actvity.

Due to southeasterly winds, minimums over Vidarbha and Marathwada are significantly above normal by 4℃-5℃. However, these temperatures would go down once the trough starts pouring rains over these regions. Meanwhile, day temperatures have witnessed a drop.

Further, North Madhya Maharashtra as well as North Konkan & Goa would continue to receive cool winds from north and northeast directions. As a result, night temperatures over these regions would drop thereby making the weather cool and comfortable over entire region.

On the other hand, the weather across Konkan & Goa as well as Madhya Maharashtra is completely dry. With cool winds reaching from North and Northeast, minimum temperatures have dropped across many parts of Madhya Maharashtra and as well as Konkan & Goa by 2℃-3℃.

Likewise, Mumbai is also witnessing minimums below normal by 2℃ and has recorded night temperature at 16.8℃ during last night, which is the lowest of this season .

In the coming days, no major change in temperatures is expected and the entire state of Maharashtra would continue to witness same temperature pattern.
