Many parts of Kerala, adjoining South Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have been experiencing rain and thundershower activities with a few moderate spells in the last 24 hours. While isolated rain was also observed in the Southeast Tamil Nadu coast and Andhra Pradesh coast. These rains were a result of a trough that was extending from North Karnataka up to Kerala.

At present, a trough is extending from South Karnataka up to South Kerala coast. Also, a confluence zone is extending across Karnataka to the central parts of the country. This system is moving closer to the Telangana region.

In the wake of the above-mentioned weather system, from the evening hours of today, we expect rain and thundershower activities at a few places in Kerala and adjoining South Karnataka with isolated moderate spells. During the same episode of this rainy spell, a few places in South Karnataka, West Tamil Nadu and adjoining Rayalseema may also observe rain and thundershowers. Places like Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Bengaluru may also observe rain and thundershower activities at the same time.

Although North Telangana and North Andhra Pradesh are expected to observe light rain and thundershowers today, from tomorrow onwards, the weather activities are likely to intensify in both the states.
