Rains likely over Bangalore in next 2 days

Bangalore Rains - 1

Bangalore has remained unreasonably dry since the last 30 days. Only a small episode of 0.3 mm of rainfall happened over the city on November 2 and no major rainfall has happened over Bangalore.

It was predicted in the Northeast Monsoon forecast that this episode of monsoon will be normal but towards the lower side. But contrary to the reports the states are almost rain deficient for the season.

At present the weather system is a trough that can be seen marked in the Southwest Bay of Bengal and another trough is extending from Coastal Karnataka to Kerala. The presence of such troughs may enhance the rainfall activity for next 2 days over most parts of south interior Karnataka.

Thanks to this Bangalore is also likely to receive light rain in next 24 to 48 hours. Cloudy weather can be observed over the city of Bangalore and drop in day temperature is likely.

As of now the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) remain close to neutral and the La Nina has not developed fully. These are the main reason for the rainfall is deficient in the region and is barring any significant weather system to develop over Bay of Bengal and adjoining Indian Ocean.

Normally during this season few numbers of cyclone forms over the region but as of now no major system has formed that will give good rains over south peninsula. After 48 hours rainfall activity will reduce significantly and again dry weather is most likely to prevail.
