Madhya Pradesh rains

Scattered rains have recently blessed a few pockets of Madhya Pradesh from prolonged dry weather. Now a Cyclonic Circulation has developed over Southeast Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. A Trough is also extending from this circulation till Karnataka region. In wake of all these systems, we expect rain and thundershower activities over many places of East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh as well as at a few places over North Madhya Pradesh.

Places for instance Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Shahdol, Umaria, Panna, Damoh, Katni, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat, Sioni will get the touch of rains. Moreover, isolated hailstorm activities are also possible in some parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Further, these on and off rains as well as thundershower activities will continue until January 26, with intensity remaining more on January 25. Further, northern parts of the state will witness dense fog for another one or two days during morning hours.

However, by January 27, we expect weather to start clearing up and rain belt to shift in south directions over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Thus, by this time, rains will completely vacate the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and will move in south directions.

Due to these rains, day maximums will fall over rain affected areas of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. However, these rains will remain far beyond the reach of western parts of Madhya Pradesh. As a result, this part will remain dry in the presence of cold northerly winds. However, due to winds coming from north directions, we expect day and night temperatures to fall by 1℃ or 2℃ over western districts such as Ratlam, Ujjain, Indore, Neemuch and Mandsaur in next 2-3 days.

Thus, coming days would observe contrasting weather conditions between west and east Madhya Pradesh, wherein East Madhya Pradesh including Chhattisgarh would drench in rain and thundershowers while West Madhya Pradesh will escape these rains and maintain dry weather only.
