Rains take back seat over Delhi NCR, warm weather to return

August 11, 2017 5:02 PM |

Cloudy weather in Delhi

There were hardly a few occasions in the month of August that Delhi and NCR region recorded some really good spells. Until the day before yesterday, the national capital recorded intense thundershowers few heavy spots of rain as well.

However, the last 24 hours remained dry for the region and no rain activity was recorded. This weather condition can be attributed to the axis of Monsoon trough running along the foothills of the Himalayas across the North of Delhi. Moreover, easterly humid winds have been replaced by westerlies that are prevailing over the national capital. These winds are dry and less humid.

Consequently, we do not expect any rain and thundershowers over Delhi for at least next 4 to 5 days. Though the sky will remain partly cloudy, temperatures will not accelerate much.

As per Skymet Weather, around August 18, the axis of Monsoon trough is likely to oscillate towards the South of Delhi and as a result, rains are expected to commence once again over the national capital along with its adjoining regions of Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and Ghaziabad.

At this time, some good rainy spells can be expected with which the mercury levels may come down a little, leading to comfortable but humid days impacting the residents.
