A cyclonic circulation is seen persisting since last two days over East Bihar and adjoining Jharkhand and West Bengal. A deep trough is also seen running from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to North Bay of Bengal up to 7.5 km.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Asansol recorded 25 mm of rain, Bankura 7 mm, Bardhaman 9.8 mm, Coochbehar 19.2 mm, Darjeeling 19 mm, Diamond Harbour 6.1 mm, Digha 52.9 mm, Jalpaiguri 12.7 mm, Kolkata 9.2 mm, Sriniketan 20.4 mm, Jamshedpur 18.2 mm, Ranchi 1.4 mm.

Now also conditions are favorable for good rains to continue over Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand for next two to three days. Therefore, temperatures over both these states are also expected to remain below normal.

Furthermore, during the month of April and May heavy to very heavy thundershower or thunder squall are very common over West Bengal and Jharkhand. They are usually accompanied by strong winds which sometimes reached to 80 to 90 kmph. Frequent lightning strikes are also very common which is one of the main cause of fatalities.

Thus, we can say that in the coming days all these activities are expected to continue.
