Rains to increase over Honavar, Mangaluru, Chitradurga; Bengaluru to remain dry

The state of Karnataka has been witnessing some rainfall activities for the past few days. In fact, rains had even made an appearance over the capital city of Karnataka, Bengaluru wherein pleasant weather did make an appearance.

However, rains did shift their course and instead of the southern parts, the northern as well as the coastal areas recorded a few good spells of rains. The last 24 hours were also similar, and the aforementioned areas recorded some rainfall.

In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Honavar recorded 7.2 mm of rains, Chitradurga saw 1 mm of rainfall, Belgaum 0.6 mm with traces of rains over the city of Mangaluru. Meanwhile, Bengaluru did remain dry during this period.

Presently, a feeble cyclonic circulation lies over Southeast Arabian Sea off Kerala coast. Along with this, an upper air trough is extending from this system up to northern parts of Karnataka coast.

Thus, due to the presence of these systems, light to moderate rains will occur over Coastal and North Interior Karnataka. In fact, rainfall activity is expected to increase over these areas.

However, Bengaluru will remain dry due to lack of moisture. Maximum temperatures will also be on a slightly higher side for the state capital. Nights will remain on the pleasant side.
