Rainfall has been a regular feature for Northeast India. While almost the entire country is fighting with the heat conditions and sizzling temperature levels, Northeast India is enjoying the good spell of showers. Most states of the region have been witnessing light to moderate rainy spells.

According to Skymet Weather, in the last 24 hours, many parts of the regions like Guwahati received 9 mm of rainfall. Tripura also received about 15 mm rainfall in almost all parts of the state. While Mizoram received huge amounts of rainfall of 67.9 mm. Northeast India has witnessed rainfall in varied intensity. Isolated heavy rain was also recorded in parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

These weather activities can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation, which persists over Manipur and the adjoining belt. Moreover, southerly-southwesterly moist winds are prevailing over the region with moderate intensity. This weather system will continue to prevail.

Rainfall activities will slightly intensify over some parts of Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Assam. Scattered light to moderate rain is likely over the rest parts of Northeastern states. Meanwhile, temperatures will be close to normal and excess humidity will prevail in Northeast India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. The weather will continue to remain pleasant over the states.
