Rain in BiharWith Monsoon rains taking back seat, very warm weather had gripped most parts of Bihar and Jharkhand. However, with couple of weather systems approaching the region, weather has taken a u-turn, particularly over eastern parts of both the region.

In fact, we can expect some good rains over East Bihar and East Jharkhand during the next 24 hours. According to Skymet Weather, moderate showers with few heavy spells are likely to lash eastern parts of the neighbouring states for the next 24 hours.

Places such as Banka, Bhagalpur, Katihar, Purnia, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur, Sahibganj, Ranchi, and Jamshedpur may record moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers with chances of lightning strikes today.

Thereafter, intensity of rains will decrease but spread of rain will increase to remaining parts of the states as well. However, intensity of rains would be confined to light to moderate showers only. Meanwhile, major cities such as Patna and Gaya would settle with light rains only.

These rains and thundershowers can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation over East Bihar and adjoining areas, while another circulation is marked over Interior Odisha and adjoining areas.

These approaching rains will replace very warm days with slightly comfortable weather conditions. Monsoon 2017 in Bihar ended with below normal rains but with some good spells of rain expected, it is likely to cover up the deficiency.

Not only this, these showers would also be beneficial for improving level of moisture in soil ahead the sowing of Rabi crop.
