Rains to shift from Vidarbha to Marathwada in the next 24 hours

February 8, 2020 4:51 PM |

Rain in Maharashtra

During the last 24 hours, light rains occurred at scattered places over parts of Vidarbha while other parts of Maharashtra remained totally dry. Weather remained mostly cloudy over rest all parts. While weather remained mostly comfortable over the northern parts of Maharashtra, the southern parts remained slightly warm.

Presently, an upper air Cyclonic Circulation lies over Marathwada and adjoining region. An upper air Trough is extending from this system to Odisha across Vidarbha. These systems will be weakening gradually during the next 24 hours.

Under the influence of these systems, Vidarbha will experience light to moderate rains and thundershowers during the next 18 to 24 hours. Places like Latur, Solapur, Sangli, Brahmapuri, Chandrapur, Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia etc will receive these rains.

Thereafter, weather will start clearing over the region as the Cyclonic Circulation would start shifting towards West over to East central Arabian Sea and adjoining region. Hence, light spell of rains and thundershower are likely over Marathwada and adjoining parts of South Madhya Maharashtra between February 9 to February 11. Meanwhile, other parts of Maharashtra are likely to remain dry during the week.

The entire state of Maharashtra will see a rise in day temperatures February 11 onward. The region of Vidarbha will see a fall in night temperatures and increase in day temperatures February 9 onward.

Meanwhile, the city of Mumbai will see cool and hazy mornings. Day will remain comfortable during the next 24 hours. Thereafter, both day and night temperatures would increase gradually during the next four to five days.
