Maharashtra rains

The hot and scintillating Maharashtra weather has become an everyday tale now. Since a long time, Maharashtra has been battling with intense summer heat so much so that heatwave too ruled several districts of the state.

However, after touching sky high temperatures, a few on and off light showers did bless the state and its parts sparing Mumbai which has remained parched almost the entire month except on one or two occasions that brought light rains in the city.

Though as of now, rains have now reduced considerably but a few districts in South Konkan and Goa region and Madhya Maharashtra region, particularly Sangli and Mormugao did record single digit rains.

The reason for these light rainy spells can be attributed to a feeble trough which is over South Konkan and Goa along with South Madhya Maharashtra region. It is due to this weather system that light rains occurred over the region during last 24 hours.

However, now the rains are expected to take a break for few days before lashing the region again. Skymet Weather reiterates that May 26 or May 27 onwards, light pre-Monsoon rain activities are expected to make an appearance over the parts of Maharashtra. Particularly regions like Sangli, Satara, and Kolhapur will witness light rain and thundershowers. As far as the capital of Maharashtra is concerned, Mumbai will have to wait for some more time.
