Rainy days on cards for Central India

February 9, 2017 4:18 PM |

Rain in Madhya Pradesh

The central parts of the country have been engulfed under dry weather conditions from past many days now. It was mainly due to an absence of any significant weather system that Central India failed to witness many showers.

In fact, temperatures in the central part of the country had also been fluctuating. Dry and cool northwesterly winds have led the minimums to drop though these increased due to wind reversal.

As per Skymet Weather, now, a cyclonic circulation is expected to form over Madhya Pradesh at around the evening of February 11 and the moisture incursion winds from the Bay of Bengal will also penetrate over the region.

Moreover, the dry and cool northwesterly winds will also reach East Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas. Due to the combined effect of both these weather systems, many parts of Central and East Madhya Pradesh along with Chhattisgarh and Southeast Uttar Pradesh are expected to witness scattered rain and thundershowers.

These rains are expected to show up in the region between February 11 and 12. The possibility of development of convective clouds cannot be ruled out as well. Hence, few areas are likely to witness hailstorm activities as well.

As per the weatherman, the weather in Central India is expected to remain rainy, hailstorms may have an adverse effect on the Rabi crops.
