Rainy episode continues over the hills and plains of North India

June 1, 2023 6:17 PM |

North India including the planes as well as the Hills has been enjoying comfortable weather conditions along with continuous pre-monsoon activities. These pre monsoon rainfall activities have kept the heat wave conditions far away from the region for quite some time now.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 AM on Wednesday, Hisar recorded 42 mm of rain, Una recorded 46 mm of rain, Shimla 40 mm, Dharamsala 33 mm, Banihal 26 mm, Churu 25 mm, Tehri 24 mm, Amritsar 23 mm, Mandi 22 mm, Sikar 21 mm, Chandigarh 17 mm, Gulmarg 15 mm etc.

Today and tomorrow, the spread might be slightly less but on June 3, we can expect some good showers in parts of North India including the hills and the plains. Thereafter, activity will reduce on June 4, 5 and 6, but on-and-off showers of lighter intensity cannot be ruled out. On June 7, rains will be minimal, and large clearance will be seen starting June 8.

Temperatures will not shoot significantly, and while the rise is on the cards after rains cease, heatwave conditions are not expected anytime soon.
