However, Bihar is still awaiting rains but the sky had turned cloudy on Thursday itself. In fact, Gaya witnessed some thundershowers on Friday as well. Ranchi and Jamshedpur too stand a chance for rain and thundershowers today.

Although weather may clear up by tomorrow but rains will return soon by Sunday. Weathermen predict that rains are likely to pick up pace during that time. According to Skymet Weather, it is anticipated that a north-south trough would form over Central India. In fact, humid winds from the Bay of Bengal are likely to pump moisture over Jharkhand and Bihar.

Thus, we expect isolated light rain to begin over parts of Jharkhand on February 11. By February 12, the intensity and spread of rain will increase over Jharkhand and are most likely to continue until February 13. Places such as Ranchi, Daltonganj, Gumla, Bokaro, Hazaribagh and Khunti in Jharkhand are likely to witness rain and thundershowers.

The rain belt would also cover parts of Bihar, especially southern districts that may also record isolated light rain on February 11-12. However, these rains will be very light in nature but the sky conditions will be cloudy throughout. Places such as Gaya, Patna Aurangabad, Nawada, Jamui, and Banka will be in radar for rains. This approaching spell of rain is most likely to evade northern parts of the state.

These showers would result in the drop of maximum temperatures by two to four degree Celsius over both the states.Meanwhile, the night temperatures are also likely to settle on the higher side over Jharkhand and parts of Bihar until February 11. Thereafter, the minimums will also register a fall of two to three degree Celsius.
