Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Raipur, Jagdalpur gear up for more Monsoon rains

Rain likely over Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha

Since the last few days, many districts of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh have been receiving good Monsoon showers. The temperatures over these states are likely to remain pleasant. As on July 10, Jharkhand is rain deficient by 2% and Chhattisgarh is rain deficient by 7%.

According to Skymet Weather, a trough is seen extending from Jharkhand up to Northwest Bay of Bengal. A low-pressure area is also lying over East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Northeast Madhya Pradesh. Due to these weather systems, Jharkhand may continue to receive good rains during the next two to three days.

In the span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Jamshedpur recorded 26 mm of rain, Rajnandgaon 15.8 mm, Pendra 8.3 mm, Bokaro 4.6 mm, Jagdalpur 4.5 mm, Ranchi 4.3 mm, Daltonganj 2 mm, Durg 1.6 mm, Bilaspur 1.2 mm and Raipur and Ambikapur 0.7 mm.

Similarly, the northern districts of Chhattisgarh such as Ambikapur, Rajnandgaon, Raipur and Raigarh will continue to receive light to moderate rains for the next few days. However, light rains may occur over the southern districts of Chhattisgarh like Bastar.

Meanwhile, good rains may continue to occur over Jharkhand for next two days and are likely to reduce thereafter. But weather over these regions is not likely to go completely dry. Whereas, Chhattisgarh will continue to record moderate to heavy showers at few places over North Chhattisgarh during the next 48 hours. These rains will keep on occurring over this state until July 14.
