Saga of good Monsoon rains continue in Madhya Pradesh

Rain in Madhya PradeshMadhya Pradesh has been witnessing on and off moderate to heavy Monsoon rains since the beginning of the season. And, the saga of Monsoon rains still continue over the state.

As of now, the low pressure area over Southeast Uttar Pradesh could be attributed to the ongoing rains over the state. An associated upper air cyclonic circulation is also extending up to mid-tropospheric levels.

In a span of 24 hours, from 8.30 am on Monday, Jabalpur received 71 mm of rainfall. Khajuraho also recorded 62 mm of rainfall and Satna 32 mm.

Skymet Weather predicts that more good rains are in the offing for North and East Madhya Pradesh during next 24 to hours.

The low pressure area will linger on over Uttar Pradesh. Moreover, the axis of the Monsoon trough at mean sea level is now passing through Amritsar, Ambala, Shahjahanpur, centre of low pressure area over Southeast Uttar Pradesh, Hazaribagh, Bankura and thence southeastwards to the centre of low pressure area over North Bay of Bengal.

Madhya Pradesh at present is the best performing region, in terms of Monsoon rains, in Central India. West Madhya Pradesh has received 43% less rains than normal. East Madhya Pradesh has also received 26% more rains than normal till August 15, 2016.
