After some quiet days, snowy and rainy week is on the cards for the hills of North India. In fact, rain and snow light to moderate in nature is expected to begin over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand as well as Ladakh starting today.
These activities will be attributed to a series of Western Disturbances, with the first already having approached the Western Himalayas. The second disturbance will approach on January 18, right after this one and a third one will follow on January 21, making this a week long rain and snow activity for the hills of North India.
Initially, these rain and snow in the hills will be on and off in nature and will only impact the hills, resulting in scattered light to moderate rain and snowfall activity over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Ladakh region.
The plains will only be affected around January 21, wherein rainfall activity is expected in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh as well as parts of Rajasthan.
