February 2, 2020 11:59 AM |

Northwest Plains

The plains of Northwest India have been witnessing dry weather conditions from the past four to five days. Since then, the minimums have also been falling gradually.

Moderate to dense fog is also being observed in many parts of Punjab and northern parts of Haryana from the last couple of days. Now, however, this layer of fog has weakened. Only a moderate layer of fog prevailed in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and West Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours.

Due to the absence of any weather system over Jammu and Kashmir and other adjoining parts of the plains of Northwest India, a mainly clear sky prevailed during the day yesterday. Also, cold north-north westerlies are blowing across the region due to which the night is cold and the days are also pleasant in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh.

A feeble Western Disturbance would be affecting the hills of Jammu and Kashmir February 3 onward. Due to this, both day and night temperatures will be rising gradually.

Thus, we can say that a slight relief from wintry conditions for Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh in the coming days.
