Snow in Srinagar, Shimla, Manali, Kullu, Nainital likely on New Year's Day

The hills of North India have been witnessing intense weather conditions for the past few days or so. In fact, severe cold wave conditions have been affecting Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh as well as Uttarakhand.
Moreover, night temperatures which have been settling below the freezing point will drop down further in the upper reaches in the next 24 hours and may settle around -7 to -8 degrees In Srinagar which has settled at -5.8 degrees Celsius today.
Parts of Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will also undergo similar weather conditions between December 28 and 30, and temperatures in many parts will go beyond the freezing point.
Thereafter, temperatures will remain the same for a day, after which a Western Disturbance will approach the Western Himalayas. Starting December 31, light rain and snowfall will make an appearance over the cities of Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Kupwara, Lahaul Spiti, Kedarnath, Badrinath, Kufri.
On January 1, good rains and snowfall will be seen in many parts including Srinagar, Shimla, Nainital, Kullu, Manali, Patnitop, Uttarkashi, Chamoli and many other adjoining areas.
Minimum temperatures during this time will see a rise. These snowfall activities which are likely to make an appearance on New Year’s day is a reason for tourists to pay these areas a visit once.
