As per Skymet Weather, a north south trough is running from East Bihar to Odisha. Moreover, a cyclonic circulation is also seen over South Bangladesh and adjoining North Bay of Bengal. Due to these two weather systems, light to moderate rains are expected to occur over Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata for the next 24-48 hours.

Some parts of the city may also receive one or two intense spells of rains but these showers will not continue for a longer duration and will be short-lived.

Weather will become comfortable during these showers and sky will remain partly cloudy to cloudy. However, after two days, the weather will once again become sultry. Hence, a longtime relief from the sultry weather is not expected.
