Srinagar, Leh, Manali, Shimla, Mussoorie, Nainital and Dehradun to witness pleasant weather

May 27, 2019 12:50 PM |

Western Disturbances have been more frequent this year compared to what it was last year. Intermittent but continuous weather activity in the hills in terms of rain and thundershower this season so far is a testimony to this fact.

But these frequent weather systems have not proven to be very helpful in giving intense or heavy rain in the region so far due to which Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are currently rain deficient.

The frequency and intensity of Western Disturbances are expected to reduce further. Therefore, we do not expect any significant weather activity for the coming one week or so.

The weather in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will remain dry. However, occasional light patchy rains may occur in the higher reaches.

Thus, we can say this is the ideal period to visit the hills of North India. Popular destinations like Srinagar, Manali, Kullu, Shimla, Nainital, Mussoorie, Leh & Ladakh, Dehradun, Haridwar, Gulmarg, Auli, Pahalgam, Dalhousie and Ranikhet will be experiencing pleasant weather conditions. Incidents of landslides, mudslide or cloud burst will be ruled out.

Although one or two feeble Western Disturbances will approach the Western Himalayas during the next few days, they will not be capable of any intense weather activities. Day temperature will remain warm but pleasant, while nights will be cool throughout next week.
