Uneven and patchy rains continued over Mumbai and suburbs, will be widespread soon

mumbai weatherDuring the last 24 hours, rain activities over Mumbai and suburbs were highly uneven. Some areas recorded heavy downpour whereas, others have recorded light rainfall. In the last 24 hours, Santacruz recorded 9 mm and Colaba recorded 89 mm rain. Thane also witnessed heavy downpour.

Today, we expect scattered rains to continue over Mumbai and suburbs. There may be a marginal increase in the rain intensity over Mumbai and suburbs from tomorrow. For the next two days, rain activities will remain in patches. We do not expect widespread rain and thundershower activities over Mumbai and service for at least the next two days. This on and off showers will continue to give relief from sultry weather.

A significant increase in rain activities is expected from August 2nd over Mumbai and suburbs, and moderate to heavy showers may continue until August 5th or 6th.

The first week of August is going to be rainy for Mumbai and adjoining areas. The weather will remain comfortable and pleasant. There are chances of traffic jams and waterlogging in low lying areas of the city between August 2nd and 5th.
