Unseasonal rains once again coming up over East India next week

January 30, 2022 11:00 AM |

Eastern parts of the country did witness some unseasonal rains last week due to the shift of the remnant of the Western Disturbance towards the eastern region of the country. Since the past few days, rains have taken a backseat due to the absence of a system.

Now, unseasonal rains may once again occur over Eastern parts of the country including East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha. These areas may witness light to moderate Rain from February 3rd and may continue until February 5th. Rain activities may be heavy to very heavy over Gangetic West Bengal, parts of East Jharkhand and North Odisha on February 4th.

Unseasonal rain has already occurred during January 9 and 11 and again between January 21 and 24 and this will be the third spell of unseasonal rains over East India. These rains may hamper the standing crop as chances of strong winds along with thundershower activities are possible over Gangetic West Bengal.

Parts of Odisha may see rain activities until 5th of February thereafter intensity will decrease and rains will subside significantly. Minimum temperatures are expected to rise gradually over most parts of East area in coming days.
