Mumbai Rains

Southwest Monsoon has finally bid adieu and so did the Mumbai rains. The city of Mumbai has remained dry for quite a lot of time now. In fact, since September 30, Mumbai has not even recorded a single drop of rain.

Due to the absence of these rainfall activities over the maximum city, the both the maximum as well as minimum temperatures have also witnessed a steep rise. So much so that the maximum has been reaching even 35 degrees with the minimums settling above the 30-degree mark.

However, now, the city of Mumbai is expected to witness some relief in terms of rain. Rain gods are expected to bestow some kindness on the residents of the maximum city. Thus, tomorrow, Mumbai rains are expected to make a comeback and the city will witness rainfall of varied intensity.

While the rainfall intensity will remain on the lighter side with isolated moderate spells, rains will witness an increase on October 8. Thus, on October 8 and 9, Mumbai is expected to witness light to moderate spells of rains with isolated heavy showers. However, the possibility of very heavy spells has been ruled out.

These weather conditions will be attributed to the presence of a cyclonic circulation over east-central Arabian Sea which is likely to move in a northwestward direction. A trough will also be seen extending from this system up to the cyclonic circulation in Telangana. The combined effect of these systems will result in some rains.

Due to these ongoing rainfall activities, temperatures will witness a drop significantly resulting in comfortable weather conditions and relief from prevailing weather conditions.
