Until now, March has been a chaotic month for the devotees who travelled to the Hindu Shrine of Vaishno Devi to seek the blessings of the Goddess. Pre Monsoon rain and thunder activity were a constant phenomenon over Katra and Vaishno Devi Dham. In fact, the upper reaches also witnessed snowfall activity.

Many active Western Disturbances approached the state of Jammu and Kashmir that has led to these weather activities.

Scattered light pre-Monsoon showers were recorded during the last two to three days also. As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, the prevailing active Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir has moved away eastwards.

Therefore, at present, the weather is almost dry with partly cloudy sky conditions. As per meteorologists, the sky will continue to remain partly cloudy along with isolated thundery activity during the next 24 hours. Thereafter, the weather would clear up and bright sunshine will take over the day.

During that time, the day temperatures are expected to increase marginally over Katra and Bhawan both. The maximums in Katra would range between 25°C and 27°C and over Bhawan, they would settle between 18°C and 20°C. Thus, in the coming time, the weather is anticipated to be comfortable and pleasant during the day.

Meanwhile, the minimums are likely to fall marginally. Therefore, the nights would be cold. In fact, during the remaining days of March, there will be no significant change in the weather as rains will be on the back seat. However, few clouds may linger at times. Thus, it is the best time to head towards Vaishno Devi to seek the blessings of the deti, as there will no weather hindrances.
