Mumbai weather

The shades of weather in India can be well noticed in Mumbai, the entertainment capital of the country. The city saw different weather moods ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold as well during past one month.

Being a coastal city, the capital of Maharashtra is not used to witness such extreme weather conditions, but, the state capital confronted it all. Mumbai city observed two cold and chilly snaps wherein the temperatures plummeted to a low of 11.9°C.

The first spell was felt by the Mumbaikars between January 10 and 13, followed by the second wintry spell felt between January 18 and 20.

As per Skymet Weather, the chilly wave and fall in temperatures is occasional and is often due to the continuous flow of northeasterly cold winds. However, since January 28, weather of the entertainment capital of India has remained warm and humid.

The city observed near normal minimum temperatures and days continued to remain warm with clear sky conditions. At present also, no significant change in temperatures are likely. However, now, the wind direction is expected to change again.

In the wake of this, minimums can further witness a marginal drop by 2 to 3°C on February 6 or February 7. Though, the weather is likely to remain dry.

Average maximum temperature for the month of February is 31.2°C, while the average minimum temperature is 17.8°C and average rainfall for the month is 1.3 mm. Hence, it is worth observing what weather has stored in for Mumbai this month.
