Weather forecast for the week from 9th to 15th September

The week starts with the formation of a low pressure area near coastal Andhra Pradesh that is instrumental in bringing rain along east coast and over south peninsula.
Also being the first after start of withdrawal of southwest monsoon that signals end of the season for west Rajasthan. It will be interesting to know which places will bid adieu to monsoon 2013. Here is a region wise forecast for the week.

North India
North India is presently witnessing a Western Disturbance due to which the region will remain party cloudy with chances of scattered rain till the mid-week. The cyclonic circulation in west Uttar Pradesh will also help keep the weather partly cloudy and bring some rain to the region. But as the weekend approaches day temperatures will rise and dry conditions will prevail. However, morning and evening hours will be a time to relish throughout the week.

East and northeast India

As the axis of monsoon trough, ( a reason for rain in both these region) has left the foothills of Himalayas, rain will remain subdued in the tarai from east UP to Arunachal Pradesh. But southern parts of UP, Bihar and West Bengal will receive some rain till mid-week. On the other hand, rain will continue in northeast region due to a cyclonic circulation and continuous moisture feed from Bay of Bengal.

Central India and south peninsula
Central India will remain hot during the time and the weather will remain dry. Some rain is expected in Vidarbha and south Chhattisgarh but only till Wednesday. The temperatures will remain above normal throughout the week.

South India will remain under the influence of the low pressure area and trough along the east coast till Friday. Light to moderate rain will continue to occur during the period over Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and north Tamil Nadu.

West coast
The southwesterly surge from the Arabian Sea will bring light to moderate rain over the coastal areas of Maharashtra including Mumbai by the middle of the week. Rain may persist till Friday.
