Weather Forecast for the week in India from May 20 to May 26

Let us take a look at the weather forecast for the week:

North India

Isolated light rain and thundershowers will continue over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh until May 21. From May 22 to 24, rain and thundershowers will increase over Jammu and Kashmir as well as Himachal Pradesh. Uttarakhand may also receive rain at its few places. Isolated snowfall is expected over upper reaches of all the three states. On may 25, intensity will once gain decrease. However, isolated rains may continue. On May 26, the weather will become clear.

Talking about plains, isolated dust storm and light rain may occur over parts of Punjab and Rajasthan on May 21. On May 22 and 23, scattered dust storm and rain as well as thundershower activities may occur over parts of Punjab, Haryana North Rajasthan, Delhi and NCR, while isolated over West Uttar Pradesh. On May 24, Punjab and North Rajasthan may receive isolated rain and dust storm. From may 25, weather will go completely dry.

Central India

Isolated light rain and dust storm may occur over North Madhya Pradesh on May 21. On May 22, North and Northeast Madhya Pradesh and isolated pockets of Chhattisgarh may receive light rain and thundershowers. May 23 onwards, weather will become dry again over entire Central India. Heat wave conditions will continue in isolated pockets of Vidarbha and South Chhattisgarh.

South India

Scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers are possible over South interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu until May 24. On May 23 and 24, South interior Karnataka including Bengaluru may experience isolated heavy spell. On may 25 and 26, isolated rains may continue over South interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. On the other hand, Telangana will remain dry throughout the week. However, Andhra Pradesh may experience occasional showers. Heatwave may occur in isolated parts of North interior Karnataka.

East and Northeast India

Scattered rain and thundershowers will continue over Northeast India until May 21. Intensity will increase over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland on May 22. Isolated heavy rains are possible on May 23 and 24. Meanwhile, we expect heavy to very heavy rains over Meghalaya and parts of Mizoram and Tripura. On May 25 and 26, intensity may decrease but fairly widespread rain and thundershowers may continue. Isolated light rain is possible over Coastal Odisha until May 21. On May 22 and 23, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and parts of Odisha may receive isolated light rain. Thereafter, weather will go dry.
