Weather System across the Country
The withdrawal line has covered most parts of Northeast India, northwest Bay of Bengal, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, North Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, some more parts of Marathwada and North Konkan.
The well-marked low-pressure area has now intensified into depression over west central Bay of Bengal. This system is likely to intensify into a deep-depression but for a short duration. It is likely to move northwestwards and cross Odisha coast by tonight.
The cyclonic circulation over East Central Arabian Sea and adjoining South Maharashtra and North Karnataka is now seen over South Madhya Maharashtra.
Weather Activity in last 24 hours
During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rains with isolated heavy spells were observed over Odisha, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and East Bihar.
Scattered light to moderate rain were observed over Jharkhand, West Bengal, Lakshadweep, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Coastal Karnataka and NMMT (Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura).
Isolated showers were also seen over South Interior Karnataka.
In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Wednesday, Gopalpur recorded 63 mm of rain, Chandbali 56 mm, Balasore 35 mm, Bhagalpur 39 mm, Jamshedpur 28 mm, Bankura 15 mm and Punalur 13 mm.
The maximum temperatures remained appreciably above normal over northwest India, particularly over West Rajasthan and Gujarat.
