The northeastern region of the country is all set to see some rains starting on January 23 with varied intensity. During this time, states of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh will be seeing rainfall activities.
These rainfall activities are expected to be a week-long affair and may even be heavy at places in some parts.
A Western Disturbance is over Western Himalayas, and the remnant of the system will travel eastward and from the Bay of Bengal, winds become favourable to pump some moisture over the region.
Peak intensity of these rains will be seen on January 23 and 24. Thereafter, there may be a mild break in between, with rainfall activities will pick up pace once again around the end of the month.
