overview
Located in the East Khasi Hills of the state of Meghalaya, Cherrapunji was once considered to be the wettest place in the world but now it has been taken over by another town Mawsynram, in the same state. However, Cherrapunji still finds mention among the wettest places in the world. The scenic beauty of this town is something to be experienced. It is one of the best places to take a break from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy nature at its best. There are numerous waterfalls in the town that act as good picnic spots. Winter, summer and monsoon are the three main seasons observed here.

winters-in
Winter starts in November and lasts till the end of February. The weather during this period is cold with minimums settling around 6°C on an average. The maximums too settle on the lower side at around 18°C. You can opt to travel to this place in this period but you need to be carrying thick woolens and Jackets to keep the cold at bay.
summers-in
Summer season from March to May is very pleasant with maximums hovering around 25°C at an average. But these months usually observe good amounts of rain and can play spoilsport. It is still one of the best times to escape from the hot weather of the plains.
monsoon-in
Monsoon season from June to September experiences heavy rain. Rainfall can very often happen throughout the day pulling down temperatures a great deal. Visiting the place at this point of time would be a bad idea unless you specifically love rainfall.
besttimetovisit
The best time to visit the place is the summer and winter months. However, we need to keep in mind that rain during summers is also very heavy. Winter is comparatively a better option.
