Sitting in the laps of the Himalayas, Darjeeling is a beautiful hill station located at a height of 7100 ft in the state of West Bengal. Roadblocks due to landslides are a common feature during this period. Continuous rain also makes sightseeing for tourists a tough task. Therefore the Monsoon season in all circumstances should be avoided.
Places to see in Darjeeling
Tiger Hill, Ghoom, Sandakpu, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park and the Peace Pagoda are some of the popular tourist destinations in Darjeeling. Ghoom railway station in Ghoom area of Darjeeling is the highest railway station in the world. There is also a memorial to Gorkha soldiers in Ghoom.
