Udaipur is amongst the most beautiful cities in Rajasthan and is therefore known as the jewel of Mewar. Located on the banks of Pichola Lake, Maharana Udai Singh established this beautiful city in 1559. Two more lakes, the Swaroop Sagar Lake and the Fateh Sagar Lake surround this city. The Aravali mountain range forms the backdrop of the city, which makes it even more enchanting. Udaipur is marked with beautiful buildings, temples and Palaces worth visiting.

The Lake Palace built in 1743 is also situated on Jag Niwas Island in Pichola Lake.
